Brenda Bryan, RD, LDN

Brenda Bryan, RD, LDN is a registered and licensed dietitian at the Center for Applied Reproductive Science (C.A.R.S.) in Johnson City, TN. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a BS in dietetics. After graduation she completed an additional 1 year Dietetic Internship Program and received a Masters in Clinical Nutrition degree in May, 2001.

Brenda provides nutrition counseling for both the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and prenatal patients at C.A.R.S. She enjoys working with patients to help them reach their individual goals in order to achieve a healthier lifestyle. She focuses on teaching patients how to make wise food choices even though they are faced with hectic schedules.

With emphasis on the nutritional concerns of the PCOS patient, C.A.R.S. joined the Denver Chapter of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association in sponsoring a booth at the 2000 American Dietetic Association National Conference in Denver, Colorado. The purpose was to bring awareness to the registered dietitians of the nutritional impact of PCOS. By educating the health care professional, the PCOS patients treatment plan can be enhanced.

Brenda realizes the importance of being active in both the local and national professional organizations. She is a current member of the American Dietetic Association and an active member of the Tri Cities District Dietetic Association.

She also supports the community by speaking about the latest nutrition topics to local athletes. A special interest is in educating elementary school children on the importance of good nutrition at an early age. Brenda celebrated National Nutrition Month with speaking engagements and cooking activities at several elementary schools.

She also worked with the W.K. Kellog Program developing nutrition education programs for Johnson County Tennessee which is an underserved rural community.

The highlight of Brenda's job is getting to know her patients and seeing the health benefits that they are able to achieve through lifestyle alterations. Eating for long term good health can be accomplished with accurate nutrition information.
